Ok, so I feel like I should blog about this because it really was a life changing experience! As some of you may know, I was on my school's shakespeare team, and at first I was kinda hesitant when I tried out...but it turned into a really awesome time!! I met some great new people and had so much fun. I learned a lot, too! The rehearsals were fun, but the real fun came from our competition in Cedar City! It was a blast, we got to go to the pool, watch other scenes, go to Sizzler, but none of those things even compared to performing. We put in so many hours, about 13 a week, on our little ten minute scene, and I truly learned that you really get out what you put in!! Hearing the judges praise us on things that we had been struggling with and working on felt wonderful! We knew we had put on the best scene that we could. We were asked to perform again at a showcase, and the crowd gave us a standing ovation. Words can't even describe!!! When you know your art has moved someone to stand up, you know you've done something good in the world! At the awards ceremony, we were all excited to see if we won, but I was so happy with the rush of performing, I would be happy either way! They started with the dance category, Hillcrest had won second place! Then they went to monologues, Kelsey Durrant from Hillcrest had won first! We were all so happy for her. Cosette and Miles won second place in duo/trio scenes, and Grace and Nate won first! We were so happy that Hillcrest was winning so much! Then...they started to announce the ensemble scenes. They started with our division, the biggest division (that we shouldn't really be in, but since we let freshmen try out we had to move up two divisions)...Third place...not Hillcrest...second place....not Hillcrest....we were all on the edge of our seats when the announcer said "1st place ensemble scene, Henry the VI Part 2, HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL!" We went craaaazy! Everyone was screamin' and huggin' and dancin', and I even got to go down with the other leads to get the trophy, since I had a speaking part! It was a feeling you can't put into words! Soon after, Hailey won a scholarship for her amazing performance in the ensemble scene, and Hillcrest won sweepstakes, overall 1st place in our division. It was a night that I will never, ever forget!! (Thanks Mr. Long!) Wow. This is a really long post! I'm sorry-most of my posts will be less intensely long, and probably funnier too. But anyways, If you ever get a chance to try out for Shakespeare team....
Do it.

PS: Shakespeare would have been the best rapper ever
Oh maaaan. That sounds SO fun. I'd totally try out, except for my lack of talent in the acting department..! But i admire those given the gift of acting so much, so congratulations again:)
