Day 3-Temples

I want to get married in this one.

Today I am grateful for the Temple. I know I don't go nearly as much as I should, but the temple always blesses my life. It's kinda one of those things where it's so hard to get there, then when you do it's like...Why am I not here more often?
The kind of peace you get when you enter the temple is just remarkable. I love going with my friends and I wish my sister lived down here so I could go with her! I am going to make it a goal to never go a month with out going. So hold me to it!!

Day 2- Today I am grateful for BYU!

Ra Ra Ra Ra! Goooo COUGARS!
Today I am grateful for BYU.
I've heard it said that if you haven't considered dropping out of college at least 7 times by now, you aren't doing it right.

True.

BUT! Then I think about the biiiig picture here. How many people would kill to be going to college, let alone such a prestigious university where everyone shares the same high standars and dedication to living the gospel?
I am pretty lucky.

Here's some (non-academic things) I have learned at college so far.

Just because you don't have a wii, doesn't mean you can't play just dance. (Thank you youtube)

There are freebs around every corner.

Alcohol is to parties at the U as cookies are to parties at BYU-- always ALWAYS expect cookies.

A lot of times, you have to make your own fun.

Netflix can and WILL be the death of you.

6 hours of sleep is good and plenty, thank you very much.

Couples. Couples run this town.

The Jesse Knight building is a Labyrinth

The Library is not just for studying, but for partying.

Well I'm sure there's more but college so far has been a stressful blast!! I'm sure by finals week I'll be clawing out my eyes, but until then....Thank you BYU!

Gratitude Challenge!!

Welp, this is awkward, haven't posted on this blog for a little over two years....Oops! Regardless. I want to get back into the game and here's how I plan to do it.
November is a month of Thanksgiving, and I don't know about you, but I feel like I should show more gratitude for the blessings I have in my life. So for the month of November, I'll post something I'm grateful for each day! They may be silly or serious, who knows! Since today is November 2nd, let me rewind a smidge.
November 1
I am grateful for Reese's Pumpkins.
There may be some of you who are thinking...isn't a Reese's just a Reese's? Shouldn't shape be irrelevant? Are you a prejudiced shapist?

You are wrong.
Reeses Pumpkins, Eggs, Hearts, Footballs...etc....ALL of the shaped Reeses are superior to their regular peanut butter cup counterparts.
The reason being the chocolate to peanut butter ratio. This one just has it right.
Liken it unto a sandwich. It's good with crust, but there's less room for the delicious filling if crust is taking up the whole sandwich. Shaped Reese's are like sandwiches with the crust cut off. That's the only way I can really explain the beauty of these tasty treats.

So just remember.
Shaped Reese's > Regular Reese's.
This is an important lesson that will prove helpful in your daily lives.

There's day 1 for ya! I challenge anyone reading this to write down something they're grateful for each day this month, be it on Facebook, Twitter, a blog, or in a journal! I promise you won't regret it :)

Peace and Blessins.

I love the internet!

I think that posts like this will be very common, because...I am always on the look out for hilarious youtube videos and websites.

I haven't figured out how to get a video on here, so I'll just put the links!

warning---don't start looking at these sites if you have homework, you probably will be a while :)
1) Random Creepy Guy: Have you ever taken a picture with someone, then looked at it later and realized that there's a creepy person making a face in the background? Or perhaps you are like me, and "picture creepin'" as I like to call it, is something you love to do? Check out this website, it's dedicated to photo bombed pictures!

2) Awkward family photos: Well the name kinda says it all! But this site has tons of weird family pictures that are just plain hilarious, and well...awkward. Some of them are super awkward so if you see something extremely creepy, well..I'm extremely sorry.

3) Ben Konop vs. the Heckler: Kanye has a second job! Its kinda long, so just watch the first minute of it if you're short on time..I dont know why I think it's so hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de3WWGCK4N0

4) Bizkit the Sleepwalking dog: One of those videos that shouldnt be funny. But is.

Shakespeare is my Homeboy

Ok, so I feel like I should blog about this because it really was a life changing experience! As some of you may know, I was on my school's shakespeare team, and at first I was kinda hesitant when I tried out...but it turned into a really awesome time!! I met some great new people and had so much fun. I learned a lot, too! The rehearsals were fun, but the real fun came from our competition in Cedar City! It was a blast, we got to go to the pool, watch other scenes, go to Sizzler, but none of those things even compared to performing. We put in so many hours, about 13 a week, on our little ten minute scene, and I truly learned that you really get out what you put in!! Hearing the judges praise us on things that we had been struggling with and working on felt wonderful! We knew we had put on the best scene that we could. We were asked to perform again at a showcase, and the crowd gave us a standing ovation. Words can't even describe!!! When you know your art has moved someone to stand up, you know you've done something good in the world! At the awards ceremony, we were all excited to see if we won, but I was so happy with the rush of performing, I would be happy either way! They started with the dance category, Hillcrest had won second place! Then they went to monologues, Kelsey Durrant from Hillcrest had won first! We were all so happy for her. Cosette and Miles won second place in duo/trio scenes, and Grace and Nate won first! We were so happy that Hillcrest was winning so much! Then...they started to announce the ensemble scenes. They started with our division, the biggest division (that we shouldn't really be in, but since we let freshmen try out we had to move up two divisions)...Third place...not Hillcrest...second place....not Hillcrest....we were all on the edge of our seats when the announcer said "1st place ensemble scene, Henry the VI Part 2, HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL!" We went craaaazy! Everyone was screamin' and huggin' and dancin', and I even got to go down with the other leads to get the trophy, since I had a speaking part! It was a feeling you can't put into words! Soon after, Hailey won a scholarship for her amazing performance in the ensemble scene, and Hillcrest won sweepstakes, overall 1st place in our division. It was a night that I will never, ever forget!! (Thanks Mr. Long!) Wow. This is a really long post! I'm sorry-most of my posts will be less intensely long, and probably funnier too. But anyways, If you ever get a chance to try out for Shakespeare team....

Do it.
